Ethan was born at 24 weeks, at birth he suffered a brain injury that cause him to have Cerebal Palsy.
The type of CP he has is called Spastic CP, which causes his muscles to be tight and stiff. There is no cure for CP though there are ways to make his every day activities in life more manageable and easier. Physical therapy, exercise, stretches, and bracing are a few. Without doing these things daily, it’s very hard for him to walk. His left leg is the most effected. Ethan has been in physical therapy his whole life, he has had a variety of braces on his legs, while the braces keep his stiff muscle at a constant stretch, they are bulky, uncomfortable, cause sores on his feet, and at times embarrassing to him. Prolonged walking with such an abnormal gait causes problems in his joints, hips, and spine.
In the past 6 years we have tried for a Device That helps Ethan walk almost perfectly! It’s comfortable, he can walk with a regular gait, with no more tripping over his stiff foot. It’s descreet, he can wear it barefoot, He can run, he can be a 12 year old boy!!
