Help Ethan Reclaim His Independence After Brain Cancer Diagnosis
Hello, my name is Ethan Bendorf. I was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer called Oligodendroglioma, specifically a grade 3 Oligo, after a sudden grand mal seizure everything changed for me. When I woke up, I was told I had anywhere from one day to a year to live, and I urgently needed brain surgery to have any chance of survival., I agreed to undergo a craniotomy – a painful procedure that left me with 50 staples in my head. Recovery has been grueling, and while it has been the most challenging experience of my life, I have held onto hope, faith, and the love of those around me.
I was also facing another challenge before all of this. My car, which I had relied on for both transportation and shelter as I had no permanent home, broke down due to a blown motor. For the time being, it felt like everything was spiraling out of control. But despite these hardships, I am so incredibly grateful to still be here.
Oligodendroglioma Grade 3 is an aggressive cancer with a poor prognosis. On average, people are expected to live 3.5 years after diagnosis. However, I am determined to defy the odds and make the most of every day. As I continue to heal and recover, one of my biggest dreams is to regain my independence – to live on my own again and experience life to its fullest, despite the challenges ahead.
I’m asking for your help to support me in this journey. Your donations will go toward securing a safe place to live, essential medical expenses, rehabilitation, and tools to help me regain the mobility and independence I so desperately want. This would allow me to live as independently as possible, and also give me peace of mind as I face the ongoing challenges of living with this diagnosis.
I’ve been drifting through life, trying to make sense of the universe, and this diagnosis has only made me more determined to live with purpose and gratitude. The road ahead is uncertain, but with your support, I can continue to move forward with hope.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story and for any help you can provide. Every little bit means the world to me.
God bless you. Jesus Christ is my rock and light.
With love and gratitude,
~Ethan Bendorf~
