My name is Ethan Hughes. I'm 19 years old from Denver, Colorado. I'm posting this to raise funds for my upcoming World Championships Race in Australia.

Donations for my trip will go 100% toward travel expenses and race registrations for myself and my dad, who assists me on any of my races requiring travel. Funds will be tracked and categorized for use toward my race experience.

Travel and accommodation costs are significant, especially after qualifying for the Gran Fondo World Championships on May 18, 2025, at the Cheaha Challenge in Jacksonville, Alabama, where I placed 3rd overall for the entire race field and 1st in my age group, 19 to 34 years of age. The race will take place a couple of hours' drive south of Melbourne, Australia, on Sunday, October 19th. I am excited to have the opportunity to race in Australia and am working to raise money to help support my trip to the race this October 2025.

About me: I am attending a local community college studying computer science and game design and am working for the community recreation center at their climbing wall. In my spare time I love cycling. My adventures in cycling truly began after 2 severe leg injuries in March of 2022 complete tibia/fibula fracture and March of 2023 complete fracture of the femur at the ball joint of the hip each requiring 4-months of non-weight bearing recovery. Ever since recovering from those accidents I have had an increased passion for all things cycling. I love to push myself and continue improving with every ride, road cycling, gravel, mtn bike, and cycle-cross.
