Help Ethan Get The Help He Needs!
Hi, my name is Mae and I first met Ethan and Julia (Ethan's mom) a few years ago on Pender Island, BC, when Julia came to work with my
horses. Since then, I have followed their journey through the medical system as Julia has tried to find answers for her son, who possesses a
rare disease. Like many of you, I want to help.
Ethan Morgan is a clever, funny, awesome kid. He’s a lot of fun to spend time with, he loves animals and nature and learning new things. Ethan has also spent his entire life in and out of hospitals. In just the past two year he’s needed emergency care over 20 times which included
two air medivacs and nine ground ambulances.
Ethan’s mom, Julia, has spent his entire life advocating for him and trying to save his life. Rare and undiagnosed disease is a long, isolating and difficult journey. Diagnosis is a privilege that can open doors to life saving treatments, medicine and additional community supports.
Julia is a full time student and equine facilitator. Due to the intensity and demands of Ethan’s acute and daily care paired with the out of
pocket expenses of a specialized medical diet, Libra 2 sugar monitors and medicines not covered by any medical program, funds are tight.
It has been a difficult journey through the local medical system. Julia and Ethan travelled across the province this winter for a second
opinion which resulted in a supportive new member to Ethan’s medical team and life saving medicine.
The next stage of their journey is to travel from the West Coast to Toronto, where important tests and consultations between Ethan‘s
medical team and Philadelphia Children’s Hospital will take place. Ethan may still need to travel to the states to be admitted as there is
testing and treatments available there that Canada doesn’t have. This important trip will provide next step towards answers and treatment that they hope will manage Ethan’s disease.
Julia estimates that gas money alone will be $2000 for the trip. Every little bit helps – if we all chip in, they’ll be able to take this next step, an important one towards getting answers, treatment, and hopefully, a normal life for Ethan. Thank you for considering...
