Help Ethan & Carmen Rebuild

Donation protected
We are friends of this couple and want to help them. They are people who would not ask others for help on their own. This is their story.....
Ethan and Carmen were excited to begin a new chapter in their lives when their journey took an unfortunate turn. Ethan, fresh from serving our country in the Marine Corps, and Carmen, a professional educator and 8 months pregnant, were relocating to Missouri for Ethan to attend college and Carmen to be closer to family when the baby arrived. Ethan drove a 26ft moving truck that contained all their belongings and towed a trailer with their brand new Subaru WRX. Carmen drove her older car with their small dog, Charlotte, and overnight bags. After an eleven hour drive, they arrived in Albuquerque to visit with family. The offer of a place to rest was irresistible. Four hours of sleep and they were ready to hit the road. With truck and car keys in hand, they said their goodbyes and stepped out of the house. The shock froze them both on the sidewalk. The moving truck and trailer with the new car were missing. The police were contacted and they waited two days in Albuquerque to see if their car, furniture, clothing, mementos, and baby shower gifts would be found. They, and Charlotte, sadly continued their journey in their old car with only their overnight bags.

"It is probably the weirdest feeling I have ever had thinking about all your possessions that you have worked hard for taken away from you in one single moment." - Carmen

After two days in their new place in Missouri, they received a phone call from the police that the moving van was found. Ethan returned to New Mexico to discover only 1/4 of their belongings were recovered, and no car.

Now, instead of unpacking and preparing for the baby to arrive, they are in an empty house wondering how they will replace their belongings. To make things worse, the moving truck company is claiming that it is not responsible for the theft and that Ethan and Carmen could be held responsible for the cost of the truck.

Please join us in helping Carmen and Ethan replace some household items and baby gifts and back on their happy path.  Any donation amount will be greatly appreciated by this caring and loving couple.
