Hi! I'm Ethan's grandmother and am asking for a little help for Ethan to buy a bassoon. He has been lucky to use the school's $14,000 bassoon but now that he's graduating, he needs to purchase his own instrument. I thought $14,000 was a lot of money, but a new bassoon can easily cost twice that amount! Ethan has worked hard over the past 2.5 years of playing this beautiful instrument. He has been a musician for both the All State Honor Band and All Southern California Honor Bands the past two years, he has won three music contests, and will be featured as a soloist in an upcoming Civic Youth Orchestra concert. Ethan will be attending Northwestern University in the fall as a music major, to study under a world renown bassoonist. The Bienen School of Music at Northwestern only accepts 7% of all applicants. E's goal is to be a professional bassoonist so needs a professional bassoon. Ethan has been awarded multiple local scholarships, but with a price tag of possibly $30,000, he could still use some help buying a bassoon. Any help is appreciated!
