Help Esther Secure a Brighter Future

My name is Ester. I’m 20 years old, and for the first time in my life I can say I’m sober, hopeful, and ready to build a future.

My childhood was anything but simple. Until I was eight, I sat in a regular Bais Yaakov classroom trying my best to be “normal.” From eight to eleven, I was shuttled from class to class, school to school. My principals and teachers didn’t understand why I was so sad, angry, and acting out. I don’t hold any resentment toward them—if they had seen the neglect, pain, and dysfunction in my home, they would have understood.

By adolescence I was already on high doses of medication—started at just five years old—but nothing eased the pain. No high school accepted me. Even the programs for “OTD” girls turned me away. I was angry, depressed, unloved, and loud. I turned to drugs to numb my suffering, but of course they never brought relief.

From ages 14 to 19, I bounced in and out of rehab, trying desperately to learn how to love myself in what felt like an indifferent, uncaring world. I was homeless and desperate. I’ve been beaten, robbed, let down, and hurt—but through it all, I never stopped searching for meaning and healing.

Now, at 20, I’m sober. I’ve been doing the hard work of recovery and I’m finally ready to take the next step: renting an apartment, finding a job, and setting myself up for success. I’ve been accepted to Yacholet, a therapeutic program in Florida that helps young women like me rebuild their lives. This is my chance to start over.

But I can’t do it alone.

Everything in my journey so far has taken a village—counselors, mentors, friends, strangers who cared. Now I’m reaching out to the greater community to help me take the next step out of homelessness and despair and toward stability, healing, and independence.

Your donation will go directly to:

Securing safe housing so I’m not back on the street.

Covering travel and initial costs for me to attend Yacholet.

Basic living expenses as I work to find stable employment.

Every contribution, big or small, is a lifeline. It’s not just money—it’s hope, dignity, and a chance for a young woman to rebuild a life once written off.

If you can, please give today and be part of my journey from survival to thriving. Together, we can prove that no one is beyond hope.

With heartfelt gratitude,
<3 Esther
