Hi! I’m starting this go-fund-me to help my friend, Esther. She’s a single mom who has been taking care of her daughter throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 2020, she was impacted severely when she caught covid, which, unfortunately, led to long-term damage to her lungs. For almost a year after, she had issues with breathing and constantly struggled with brain fog and anxiety. This escalated to her being unable to sleep at night and having to leave her job as a teacher as a result. In February of 2021, the physical and mental stress came to a head.
She had a near-death experience.
Her lungs stopped working and she stopped breathing and blacked out. Her doctor said that she’s lucky she’s still alive today.
I wish I could say that the trouble stopped there, but losing her job as a result of catching covid had huge implications. Trying to find another job that would allow her to stay home and watch her daughter throughout the pandemic was trying, to say the least. And, in three days, she and Pepper are going to lose the backhouse that they’ve been renting.
But, she’s not giving up! Starting next month, both she and Pepper will both be going to school online. Esther will be finishing up her credential and homeschooling Pepper as she starts kindergarten online. Pepper exhibits symptoms of ADHD, so is unable to start conventional schooling at this time. Esther wants to make sure she gives Pepper the time and attention she needs to be prepared to start 1st grade in-person.
She was lucky enough to save up for a used fifth-wheel trailer, since she can no longer afford rent. For the next year, Esther and Pepper will be living in the fifth-wheel as they both attend school online. Esther’s built a plan so that she can come out of this without owing too much money, but she needs your help right now to be able to purchase a truck to move the fifth-wheel somewhere affordable, and to be able to move it in case of fire or any other emergencies. Money is going to be tight for the next year, but having the truck will open up many more options for her and for Pepper.
Esther knows that times are tough for everyone right now, so each dollar donated is a further reminder to her and Pepper that the human spirit has not been beaten down by this virus. Words cannot say how thankful we are for every contribution. every dollars helps.
Esther has always been resilient and optimistic and wants you to know that if she can make it through this, you can make it through this too :)
