On the night before the Fourth of July, heavy rains swept through the Hill Country changing lives in an instant. One of those lives is our dear friend, Esther. Esther nearly stayed home to face the storm alone. At the last moment, she made it to San Antonio to celebrate with loved ones. We are thanking God she did because her street was hit with devastating flooding that changed everything.
Behind Esther’s home runs Big Sandy Creek that had always been peaceful..until that night. The water rose so fast and so violently that it destroyed the only bridge leading to her house, completely cutting off access. The house next door was swept away entirely. Cars from neighboring homes ended up in Esther’s yard. Floodwaters climbed all the way up to her windows, and everything inside was damaged or lost.
Esther has lived in that home off Nameless Road for decades. It holds her memories, her roots, and her entire life’s belongings. While we know material things can be replaced, the emotional toll of losing your home is overwhelming. And for someone as humble and kind-hearted as Esther, asking for help does not come easily.
That’s why we’re doing it for her.
We’re rallying around Ester now, asking for whatever support you can give. Whether it’s $5 or simply sharing this page. Every dollar will go toward helping her rebuild what was lost, from basic needs to long-term recovery.
If you have a moment and a bit of room in your heart, please consider donating to help Esther begin again.
