When Life Throws Everything at Once: Help Esther Beat Cancer
You know how some people just make the world brighter? That's my friend Esther. She's the one who remembers your kid's birthday, shows up with soup when you're sick, and somehow always knows when you need a laugh. A single mom, she's been everyone's rock for years.
Now she needs us.
The diagnosis came out of nowhere: breast cancer. Just like that, everything changed. She's fighting hard, but the reality is brutal. She can't work right now. The bills keep coming. Treatment costs are crushing. And through it all, she's still trying to be "Mom," still apologizing for needing help (classic Esther).
Here's what kills me: She spent years being there for everyone else, and now she's trying to handle this alone because she doesn't want to "burden" anyone. But that's not how this works, right? This is when we show up.
We're trying to raise enough to keep her afloat—medical bills, groceries, keeping the lights on, and gas to get to treatments. The basics that become mountains when you're too sick to work. Every dollar means one less thing she has to worry about while fighting for her life.
I've watched her try to stay positive for her child, cracking jokes during chemo, still asking how everyone else is doing. But I also see the fear when she thinks no one's looking. The stack of bills on her kitchen counter. The way she counts every penny at the grocery store now.
If you can help, even with $20, $50, or whatever, please do. If you can't, sharing this would mean the world. She'd never ask for herself, so we're asking for her.
Let's show her she's not fighting alone. Let's be the village she's always been for us.
Please donate or share. Help us help Esther focus on beating this, not drowning in bills.
