Estefan Mariano Cabrera has been a part of my life since childhood, growing up together in our church community in the Dominican Republic. Throughout the years, I have witnessed his unwavering dedication to serving others and his deep faith, even as he faced tremendous personal challenges. Since the age of eight, Estefan has battled refractory epilepsy—a condition that has only grown more severe with time. Despite countless treatments and evaluations, his seizures have persisted, impacting every aspect of his life.
Recently, after undergoing a series of advanced medical tests, Estefan’s doctors identified a focus of epileptic activity in his brain that requires a highly specialized surgery. This procedure involves implanting a 64-electrode grid through a craniotomy, monitoring brain activity, and then carefully removing the affected areas using neuronavigation technology. The goal is to control his seizures while preserving as much brain function as possible. The surgery, along with post-operative care and medications, comes at a cost that is simply beyond what Estefan and his family can manage on their own.
Estefan’s greatest hope is to regain his health so he can return to church and continue serving the Lord and his community. Today, we are reaching out with humble hearts to ask for your help. If you feel led to support Estefan, please consider making a donation—no amount is too small. If you’re unable to give financially, we kindly ask that you share this fundraiser and keep Estefan in your prayers. Your support, whether through giving, sharing, or praying, truly makes a difference. Thank you for standing with Estefan during this difficult time.
