Hi everyone! My name is Esmie Wallace. I live in the US, but was born and raised in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica where my sister still lives with her husband. I’m asking for your support to help my family in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica, who have been deeply affected by Hurricane Melissa. Their community is one of many where government relief has not yet reached, and they are struggling to meet even their most basic needs.
During the storm, my family lost the roof of their home, leaving everything inside destroyed. All of their belongings are gone. Clean drinking water and food are scarce, and with no electricity or internet, they have very limited ways to communicate or access help. For now, they are staying with a generous neighbor who took them in so they could have shelter.
I am hoping to raise $5,000 to help them rebuild and regain stability. The funds will go toward:
- Replacing the roof on their home
- A new bed to sleep on
- A new stove so they can cook
- Essential supplies such as food, water, clothing, and other basic necessities
