On August 24th, 2025, our family’s world was turned upside down. My sister, Esmeralda, went into labor far too soon and gave birth to her twins at just 24 weeks.

They weren’t due until the end of November, but life had other plans.

For nearly two weeks, both babies fought with incredible strength in the NICU.

On September 6th, our sweet Baby Boy’s tiny heart stopped beating as he rested safely in the arms of his parents. He left this world surrounded by their tears, their warmth, and their endless love, a heartbreaking goodbye no parent should ever face.

Baby Girl continues her brave fight in the NICU, and parents are doing everything they can to be by her side.

This devastating loss, paired with the ongoing fight for Baby Girl’s life, has left this family facing unimaginable emotional and financial burdens. Esmeralda has had to step away from work to grieve and care for her daughter, but her workplace is too small to provide FMLA protection. Her husband is working tirelessly to support their family, all while caring for their two little boys, Aziel (4) and Allen (3), and carrying the weight of losing his son.

We wanted to share a little update on sweet baby girl, Amarah.

Our beautiful little warrior arrived on August 24, 2025, and she’s been showing incredible strength during her time in the NICU. Every single day, she continues to amaze us with her fight and her spirit.

The doctors are hopeful that she’ll be home just in time for Christmas, and that would be the greatest gift of all.
