Esmeralda and I would like to thank everyone so much for for the support. With your kind donations, and a credit from the hospital, our payments are now manageable. We will be suspending the GoFundMe.
Our hearts are full. We thank you.

I'm Esmeralda. I live with my mom Marilyn and sister Agatha. Many of you know me, as I"m quite popular! People always stop me for a photo op in our little Atwater Village neighborhood. However... I've run into a problem. A really BIG problem. I was rushed to the emergency hospital on January 28th around 5:00am. They said I might have Acute Hemorrhagic Diarrhea Syndrome. I went into Hypoglycemic Shock, my red blood count was 78%! Apparently I was completely septic, and they didn't think I would make it. But (so far) I'm slowly getting better.
I'm STILL in the hospital. It's been 5 days in Emergency and counting. I've had two plasma transfusions, and a whole load of other stuff. For a little dog weighing only 5 lbs, it's a lot. My mom really loves me, and wants me to come home. The biggest issue is, Emergency Hospitals are expensive. So far, my mom has spent $19,500.00. Many of you may think that's silly, but those of you with 'children' as cute a me will understand. I really do think I'll get better. Hoping to come home tomorrow, and then I will have some aftercare. My mom really needs some financial support on this one. She can't do this on her own. Anyone who knows my mom, knows she would be absolutely horrified to ask for help. But now, we have no choice. We have already received a kind donation, and respectfully, we're asking if you can open your heart and help me out here. Anything big or small... it will all help. We would both be forever grateful. Please do not feel obligated. Only IF you can help, we would appreciate it. And.... since my mom isn't the most social person, she would like you to share this with others. Oh.... I should tell you where I'm at: I'm at a wonderful facility called LAASER - Los Angeles Animal Specialty Emergency Hospital on San Fernando Road. Apparently, the vet told me I'm a fan favorite. I mean, of course I am. This is a great hospital, and I have 24/7 care. Mom added some of the better looking hospital photos, and some of me in better times. I don't know what else to say, except THANK YOU!!!!!
