My name is Melanie Gonzalez, and I'm reaching out for help on behalf of my mom, Esmeralda, and myself. I am a high school senior, and my mom is a single mother who has worked tirelessly to provide for me and give me a better future. Unfortunately, due to the Eaton Fire, we lost our home in Altadena, and we find ourselves in a place we never imagined.
We moved to Altadena six years ago with nothing, starting over from scratch, and it's heartbreaking to be in that same position again. Right now, we are overwhelmed with worry and stress. The fire took everything, and we're struggling to get back on our feet.
It's hard to sleep at night when we don't know where we'll go next or how we'll rebuild our lives.
Your donations will go directly toward covering the basic necessities we urgently need such as food, toiletries, clothing, and rent, as well as helping us find stable housing and regain some sense of security. Any amount helps, and it will make a huge difference during this difficult time.
