Help Esa Recover From Losing Her Federally Funded Job
Donation protected
I hate having to reach out when I know that everyone is trying to get by. The world seems to be on fire.
Lately, I have been inundated with medical bills- mine and for my two cats who passed. I borrowed money to make those payments which were over 7000 each.
I recently lost my job which was federally funded. I am now applying for anything that I think I may be able to get an interview for but facing a few challenges: most of those jobs don’t start until August, and I am competing with Federal workers who were also let go and will be a priority for any state/federal job that opens up. I am dog walking, doing some online editing work, and trying everything to keep the basic bills paid but I do not want to lose my apartment. Unemployment may not come through because since my position was grant funded it may not technically be labeled as being fired.
Anything you can do to help, I would appreciate. I can share my resume with you. My venmo is @esa-iglesias which will get to me directly without any fees or wait times. If you prefer, I can send you some of my bill info such as Pepco so you know that I am not taking advantage. My rent is a bit over 2000 a month and I’m hoping to make it to August when I’m hoping I’ll have a steady paycheck beginning to come in again. I also have to keep my wifi and phone on just to keep applying. I can honestly see how people can become homeless so easily. It’s heartbreaking.
Prayers, sharing this, sending hopeful messages are all appreciated as well.
Once I get through this I hope to give back as much as I can. Stick it out with me! These are the challenging chapters.
