On October 29, 2025, our lives changed forever. My father, Erroll Castrillo, suffered a severe hemorrhagic stroke that left him completely paralyzed on the left side of his body. Since that day, nothing has been the same. Today, my father cannot walk, stand, or use the left side of his body. He is bedridden and requires full-time care, only way to get him out of bed is by using a Crane (see picture). He now wears diapers and cant even use the bathroom. My mother (his wife) now has to care for him around the clock. Mentally, he is often confused. He forgets his condition and believes he can still get up, go to work, and live life as he once did. Watching this has been incredibly heartbreaking for our family. My father was a hardworking man who always provided for his family. Now, he is unable to work, and my mother made the difficult decision to quit her job to care for him full-time. At this moment, my parents have no income coming in. Insurance only covers 2 hours of home care per week, which is not nearly enough for someone in his condition. Because of this, we’ve had to hire additional help so my mother is not doing this alone. We are paying out of pocket each week for a caretaker and for physical therapy, along with medical transportation. These costs add up quickly, just to give my father a chance at recovery and basic care. Doctors have told us that consistent physical therapy is the only hope for my father to regain any movement on his left side. We are doing everything we can to give him that chance. I am their only child, and I am covering their car payment and mortgage on my own, while my mom uses the tiny bit of social security money to pay for the therapy and care. We are asking, from the bottom of our hearts, for any help you can provide. Every donation will go directly to my mother so she can help my dad with his care—covering therapy, in-home assistance, and the resources needed to support his recovery. We do not want my father to remain paralyzed and bedridden. We are fighting for him every day, and we are hoping others can help us in this fight.
