Ernie got his liver!! Please help him recover

Update: God is good!! Ernie had his liver transplant last night, on 2/24. Thank God everything went well. His recovery will be long. He’ll be in the hospital for at least the next few weeks, followed by 6 weeks at home where he will need someone with him 24/7.

For those of you that don't know, Ernie has been battling liver failure, caused by his diabetes, for quite some time. He has had 2 surgeries so far, but they didn't help. He is on the transplant list and is waiting for a liver. He was on light duty for a while at work but unfortunately became unable to work about 4 or 5 months ago as it takes all of his energy just to complete normal, daily tasks. Now, he is having issues with his liver not flushing out ammonia from his system and it building up to toxic levels and causing him to become extremely confused and disoriented then he has to go to the hospital and get the ammonia flushed from his system. If he doesn't get it taken care of right away when it happens it can be fatal.

So, as you can see, he has a lot on his plate. Well, in addition to all of that, he found out that his disability payments are only $500 a month and he can only get it for 6 months. It took him 4 months to even find that out and get a payment, so he has gone through his savings and we all know that no one can pay their bills with $500 a month.

So, we are reaching out to friends and family, asking for donations, so that Ernie can focus on getting better, and not be worried about his finances.
