My husband Ernie as everyone knows him as deaf Ernie, lol. This all-started Tuesday February 11th. He went in for a routine visit as he always does, he literally never misses a beat when it comes to his health. He was having some severe lower back pain, kind of like where the sciatica nerve is and has had diarrhea. So, the doctor sent him in for routine blood work and wanted to set him up for an MRI of his lower back. but he wanted to perform his blood test first. So, we got his blood test done, and Wednesday February 12th the doctor called me and told me his liver enzymes are extremely high, and he wants to do a CT stat. I said let's do it ASAP. We then went in on Thursday for his CT, everything went well, Ernie was fine, wasn't feeling bad, just really tired. But once we were done the doctor told us we would get the results from the CT no later than Friday after. Well, Friday Morning February 14th @ 9am I received the call that I would never in life have to take in. The doctor stated Mrs. Stanhope your husband has cancer, he couldn't tell me the stage, but he could tell me that its bad and that it's in his liver, lungs and rectum. I was speechless I couldn't even speak the doctor thought I hung up on him. It was just something I wasn't expecting to take in... Ever since the diagnoses we have been to so many different doctors appts and missed a lot of work. He started with a surgeon which is who told us that his cancer is in fact stage 4 cancer, and that he will be surgically putting in his chemo port and getting him started as soon as possible. His chemo port was put in last Tuesday and Ernie started his first chemo treatment yesterday. He was very nervous and didn't know what to expect or even know how his body would take the chemo. His body took the chemo like a champ, the only thing that it caused was him to be very tired a very gentle to cold stuff. He is going to continue to fight an I am going to continue update everyone on his journey. But, as for now we are in need of help. With the time we are missing from work for treatments, appointments and medically bills that have already started to stack up. If there is anything that anyone is willing to help us get through this hard time and take some stress off of us while we go through this would be greatly appreciated. Financially its started getting hard on us. But we are staying positive for the kids and ourselves. We just want to make sure that the kids are happy and know that daddy is going to fight and we as a family are going to get through this together.
