It’s with heavy hearts that we share the story of Ernesto Turcio—a loving husband, devoted father, and kind member of our community—whose life was tragically cut short by an aggressive brain tumor.

Just weeks ago, Ernesto was suddenly diagnosed with this devastating illness. There was no time to prepare, no chance to fight. In what felt like a blink, he was taken from us, leaving behind his wife and their beautiful 3-year-old daughter. The shock and grief they are facing is unimaginable.

What makes their situation even more heartbreaking is that they are here in the United States without any immediate family. Navigating such a loss is hard enough—but doing so far from home, with limited support, adds another layer of hardship that no one should have to endure.

Ernesto’s final wish was to be laid to rest in his homeland of Mexico City, where generations of his family have lived and where he dreamed of returning. Honoring that wish comes with significant expenses—on top of the medical and funeral costs his family now faces alone.

Hace apenas unas semanas, Ernesto fue diagnosticado repentinamente con esta devastadora enfermedad. No hubo tiempo para prepararse, ni oportunidad para luchar. En un abrir y cerrar de ojos, nos lo arrebataron, dejando atrás a su esposa y a su hermosa hija de 3 años. La conmoción y el dolor que enfrentan son inimaginables.

Lo que hace que su situación sea aún más desgarradora es que se encuentran aquí en Estados Unidos sin familia inmediata. Superar una pérdida así ya es bastante difícil, pero hacerlo tan lejos de casa, con poco apoyo, añade otra capa de dificultad que nadie debería tener que soportar.

El último deseo de Ernesto fue ser enterrado en su ciudad natal, la Ciudad de México, donde generaciones de su familia han vivido y adonde soñaba con regresar. Cumplir ese deseo conlleva gastos significativos, además de los gastos médicos y funerarios que su familia ahora enfrenta sola.
