Help Erma Recover and Honor Her Mother’s Memory

Friends, coworkers, and kind hearts,

There are people in healthcare who do more than care for others. They carry them. Erma is one of those people. She listens when someone is afraid. She shows up when someone is hurting. She gives of herself quietly, day after day, because helping others is simply who she is.

Over the past months, Erma has been facing a challenge she never expected, recovering from a stroke. Healing has demanded patience, strength, and courage. Even during this time, her instinct has remained the same, to think of others before herself. That generosity of spirit defines her.

On December 15, 2025, as she was still fighting her way back to health, Erma’s world changed forever. Her mother passed away. Losing a parent is a heartbreak that leaves an ache no words can ease. Experiencing that loss while recovering from a neurological injury adds a depth of pain that few can imagine.

Through every difficult day, Erma has been held up by the love of her husband, Steve, whose unwavering presence has been her anchor, and her daughter, Valerie, whose love gives her strength, purpose, and hope. They are a close, devoted family, now navigating grief together at a time when they were already stretched thin.

Erma wanted this shared because she knows how much our department cares. She has felt your prayers, your messages, and your kindness, and they have carried her more than you know. Right now, that compassion means everything.

This GoFundMe is our opportunity to give back to someone who has spent her life giving. Donations will help ease the financial strain of medical recovery and funeral arrangements, allowing Erma, Steve, and Valerie to focus on healing, grieving, and supporting one another without added worry. Every contribution, no matter the amount, is an act of love and solidarity.

If you are able to give, please do. If you are unable, sharing this page and keeping this family in your thoughts and prayers still makes a difference. When one of us is hurting, all of us feel it, and together we can help lift this family during one of the hardest moments of their lives.

Thank you for opening your heart and standing with Erma and her family when they need it most.
