Erin’s cancer has unfortunately returned for a third time.

She had a tumour removed from her leg two weeks ago. She is scheduled to have immediate radiotherapy as a follow up therapy.

Although she is a public patient, there are significant out of pocket expenses including oncologists gap fees and radiotherapy fees.

Erin needs your help again.

Update since last post

Erin was full of hope in her last post from three years ago and we have had some excellent times. She had come out of the very large brace and had even driven a car again. It was a long, difficult recovery to gain her mobility. Erin still walks with a walking stick. Against all odds, she went back to work and put on two more Cygnet Folk Festivals!

Unfortunately, she suffered a massive disc herniation requiring urgent surgery. The surgery was delayed for a month due to lack of capacity at the hospital. It has left her with a permanent disability, and she can only walk a few hundred meters at a time.

In June 2023, they discovered the first recurrence in her leg and a small lesion in her lung. She was treated with radiotherapy for three months and it seemed successful.

Since January this year, the leg pain become progressively worse. We tried all kinds of therapy. Cancer was ruled out and Erin tried all available pain medication, shockwave therapy, massage, various injections. Nothing helped.

Six weeks ago, they found a tumour wrapped around a muscle and a nerve. It was removed and we are still waiting for confirmation if it is the same tumour as before.

Despite all this, Erin is in good spirits and is still working and hopes to put on another cracker of a festival in January 2025. She loves the job as Artistic Director of the Cygnet Folk Festival, but it is poorly paid. I unfortunately lost my job 18 months ago, hence this request for your help again.
