Erin's Transition & Moving out of Florida

UPDATE! We hit goal! Thank you so much, my first year of HRT is fully funded and its been an AMAZING year so far in terms of my mental and physical health turning around and its all thanks to you.

BUT FLORIDA

Florida is moving rapidly against Trans people in Florida and its only a matter of time before I have to relocate from this state to keep my family and I safe. This GoFundMe will eventually become a relocation fundraiser to escape Florida, my home for more than half my life.

I'm still working on hard numbers because this move will mean that I'll have to abandon my professional licenses and start fresh plus we'll be moving light so I'll be selling off everything I own which might provide some extra funds.

Hello, my name is Erin, a middle-aged trans woman in Central Florida

 

I've been struggling and trying to cope with gender dysphoria for most of my life, but the last two years made me realize this is who I am, and I can't keep running from it. For whatever life I have left, I want to live it as myself. For the last few years I've been trying to begin HRT and transition and... failing. Unfortunately, my health insurance does not cover trans-related healthcare and other options just haven't panned out, even with the help of some wonderful friends who went out on limbs for me and I'm grateful to know now. And all the while I've been trying to get myself on better footing to provide support for myself and my family.

 

Sadly that means I'm struggling to afford HRT, bloodwork, and even have time for doctors appointments out of pocket. My last option is asking for help here. I don't like to ask for help, but this trans woman is asking for your help.

 

I plan to sign up for either Plume or Folx for HRT, the amount I'm looking for is to cover a year's worth of services from them, tests & prescriptions. Any money raised over that amount will be put towards voice lessons, relearning myself, clean diet & exercise, laser hair removal and helping my family adjust to this transition. I don't know if I'll finish my transition, but if I can have a few months of happiness seeing me for once in the mirror, then I'll call that a happy life.
