A year and a half ago, I lost my dog to cancer. It was the most heartbreaking moment of my life. You don’t realize how much your pets mean to you until they’re gone. It’s a horrible decision to let them go to sleep.
My dear friend Erin, today, is finding herself in the same situation, but with hope. The vet has given her avenues that she can go down to try to save her dog and hopefully spend many more years with her baby. The course of diagnostics and treatments that Leia will have to go through in the following days and weeks will be costly.
The best we can figure out is last June, while she was playing among other dogs, another dog ran right into her side, innocently. But because the dog was so much bigger than Leia, it spun her around, and a fatty tissue on her side burst open, leaving blood everywhere. It was taken care of immediately, but you could tell something was not right. Despite all of the different vet visits, no one could see anything of concern until last night. She has fluid around her lungs and her liver and will need further tests to find out exactly what’s going on and the treatment that’s going to be involved.
If you’ve ever had a pet that has passed away, you know how painful it is and how you would do anything to help them. I have set up this fund for my friend. The money will go directly into her account. My hope is that some kind people out there will help out. Any donations will be highly valued and appreciated.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
