Exactly what it says on the tin!
I'm working towards becoming a Paralegal through the Certificate program at Capilano University. This program is ten courses total, of which I've already completed one and performed well enough to be placed on the Academic Merit list. I'm feeling pretty good about that accomplishment, and I'm confident that I can maintain the GPA needed to stay on the list throughout and graduate with honours.
Though it's on hold for now while I do the Certificate program, I'm also most of the way through a B.A at the University of British Columbia, which I will be returning to after completing coursework at Capilano. I've also only got ten courses left to graduate!
Unfortunately, I do not live in a country with low-cost post-secondary education. Canada's great in many ways, but this is not one of our stronger features.
I have a full-time job in a professional position. For most of my progress through university, I've also held down secondary part-time jobs, all while attending classes, studying, writing papers, and taking exams simultaneously. I have a second job right now, and intend to keep working there as long as they'll have me.
I'm determined to achieve my goals, even if I have to do it one small piece at a time, and I'm working hard to make it happen. But I would like a bit of a reprieve, just to take the edge off.
Here's a rough planned expense list:
Classes are between $700 - 850 each.
The price for textbooks varies a lot, but the lowest I've paid is $50 and the highest was around $300.
And, of course, coffee. It makes the world go 'round, and it definitely makes studying all night much, much easier.
I've set my goal at $5000, which is a fairly modest amount measured against my total education expenses. Any help at all would be hugely appreciated!
