My name is Joedy and I'm raising funds for my niece, Erin, who is battling thyroid cancer. Her story is here:

As people may know, I can be a very private person when it comes to sharing about myself, especially on social media. I am writing today to share about my experience and ask my community for a little help.

After a very long year of demanding symptoms and medical testing, I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in February of 2026. This journey has not been the easiest to navigate but I have had wonderful support in my community. My father having recently passed from Pancreatic Cancer taught me a lot about resilience and keeping your spirits high.

I have gone through a few surgeries, hospital stays, and am well into my treatments. This has been one of my toughest personal battles and I have been met with disappointment, discomfort, and unanswered questions. I have also learned that I am stronger than I know, loved deeper than I realized, and through it all I am still able to be ‘Me’.

There is still a lot to face as I continue with treatments, monitoring, and recovery but the future is bright and I am eagerly awaiting getting back to being active, traveling, and being fully present again.

Unfortunately as most know all too well, this is not a financially easy journey. I am fortunate enough to be backed by an amazing work place and have been able to feel secure enough to focus on rebuilding my health. That being said the bills add up and keep coming. I am asking those who have something to spare and would like to support me to donate to this GoFundMe to assist in the mountain of medical expenses and all that goes along with my diagnosis.
