My name is Erin, and I am a 55-year-old grandmother doing my best to care for my six grandchildren. Life has been incredibly challenging lately, and I am reaching out because I have nowhere else to turn. Despite being diagnosed with several mental health conditions—ADHD, ODD, severe anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and epilepsy—I was denied disability. I work as much as I can, but it is difficult to make ends meet, and most months we barely have enough to cover the bills. We often rely on food pantries just to get by.
Right now, we are facing eviction, and the cold weather makes our situation even more urgent. I have received turn-off notices for both our heat and electricity, and I am terrified of what will happen to my grandchildren if we lose our home. My mother passed away a few years ago, and since then, my father has chosen not to be part of my life. I have exhausted every resource I can think of, and it is with a heavy heart that I ask for help.
The funds raised will go directly toward paying our rent, keeping the lights and heat on, and making sure there is food on the table. I also need to fix the brakes on my car so I can safely get my grandchildren where they need to go, and I hope to buy them some new school clothes. Any support you can give is deeply appreciated. Thank you so much for taking a moment out of your day to read my story. Your kindness means more than words can say. Thank you, and God bless.
