Erin suffered the unexpected loss of her mother Dea yesterday. This sudden loss has left her dealing with more than just her grief. Erin is facing unexpected financial hardship on multiple fronts.

Erin is now solely responsible for the funeral home fees of, at minimum, $2000. She is also tasked with the considerable job of putting her mother's affairs in order. As such, she will have to take unplanned and unpaid time off work.

To further complicate things, Erin and Dea have been living together in Dea's house for the past many months. For multiple reasons, Erin must now move from Dea's home. As with any move, Erin will have extra expenses related to relocating.

Erin also co-owns a small rental property in Gainesville with her mother. With Dea's passing, Erin has suddenly become exclusively responsible for the mortgage. Erin and Dea's long-time tenant just gave notice that she is moving out. This will be an additional financial burden for Erin until she is able to come up with funds needed for the updates and repairs necessary for the house to be ready for another renter.
