Hello friends, family, and kind strangers,

I’m about to take a huge step in my transition journey, one that I’ve dreamed about for so long. But I can’t do it alone. I need your help to make this a reality.

For the past two years, hormone replacement therapy has been life-changing. It’s helped me feel more like myself than I ever thought possible, and it’s made me a better wife and mother in ways I can hardly put into words. But hormones alone can’t heal all the pain of living in a body that still doesn’t fully reflect who I am. There are still crucial, life-affirming procedures ahead — procedures that will finally allow me to feel at peace in my own skin.

I always knew I would pursue these surgeries, but what I didn’t expect was how urgent this would become. The political climate for transgender people is getting scarier by the day. Laws are being proposed and passed that threaten my ability to access the care I need. There is a very real possibility that, soon, my insurance could refuse to cover these procedures — or that hospitals could be forced to stop offering them altogether. The window is closing, and I feel I can’t afford to wait any longer.

That’s why I’m asking for your support — to help cover the copays for these procedures, to cover travel and lodging for care I may need to seek out of state, and to help me stay afloat while I take time off work to heal.
