Luke’s condition is worsening. He’s having a different type of seizure that’s deep in the brain (we are not able to see these) that can also cause him to go into status epilepticus or SUDEP. He’s having these in his sleep, with no convulsions. His seizures are lasting longer than 5 minutes; it’s so dangerous. His VNS has been stimulating a lot, but it still isn’t enough for his seizures. We increased two of his meds yesterday. His local neurologist sent a message to the Atlanta neurologist; we’ve got to get something done quick. His memory is worsening. Keep praying for all of us. I have missed two weeks of work; my vacation has been exhausted due to his illness. Things are getting tough. The unknown is exhausting in every way possible. Thankfully, Jaylin is still on maternity leave and she is able to stay home with him for the time being. We are looking into a possible full-time caregiver program where she may be able to stay home and care for him (he is not able to be left alone). If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
