Kickstart Erika's Journey: Help Her Move Across the Ocean

Hello everyone! I really hope you all are doing well. Thanks for clicking the link! Let me tell you my story…

My name is Erika Pazmino, also known as Espoleta in the capoeira world. A couple of weeks ago, I received the letter of acceptance for a master’s program in Germany - the program that I wanted the most. Wohooo! But let's go back in time for a bit.

My Journey So Far
As some of you know, I was living in the US for the past 4 years. As an international student, I was paying a crazy amount for tuition every semester for an associate's degree (2-year program). I tried everything (believe me ☹️) to smooth my days there, but it was not possible. I even hoped to speak with you about this personally, but my tourist visa was denied, even though I was living in the US, working in a city, paying for school, and filing my taxes.

I already have a bachelor’s degree (a 5-year program), which made me reconsider my options because the financial aspect was no longer sustainable. So, I decided to pursue a master's program instead. The master's program fees in the U.S. are just impossible to pay for an international student, and are normally double or triple the regular cost. The cost typically ranges from $30,000 to USD 120,000 per year!!!! So, I knew from the beginning that it wouldn't be a place to stay any longer. Besides my connections, friends, and community , the U.S. wouldn't be a place for me to continue my studies.

New Chapter in Germany
After much research and careful consideration, I applied to several master's programs in Germany, and thankfully, I was accepted into my top choice in Germany. This is an incredible opportunity for me to further my education in a field I'm passionate about, and at a much more manageable cost compared to the U.S. This program aligns perfectly with my academic and professional goals, and I am incredibly excited about the prospect of studying abroad on a new continent and experiencing a new culture.

How You Can Help
While the tuition fees in Germany are significantly lower than in the U.S., there are still substantial costs associated with living expenses and initial settlement. My goal is to raise $5,000 to help cover these essential expenses and allow me to focus on my studies without overwhelming financial stress.

Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference in helping me achieve this dream. Every dollar brings me closer to starting this new chapter and pursuing my academic aspirations.

Thank You for Your Support
I am so grateful for your consideration and support. Whether you can donate, share my campaign with others, or simply send positive vibes, it all helps! Thank you for being a part of my journey, and remember, in Ecuador, you have a home anytime you want to visit!

With love and gratitude,
Erika Pazmino (Espoleta)
