Help Erika & Ceci Rebuild Their Home

I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I would be retelling this story. As most of you know, a Tornado struck the city of Round Rock, Texas yesterday. Unfortunately, the Tornado hit my sister’s home causing severe structural damages to their home.

Imagine chopping up potatoes in the kitchen for dinner when your partner comes running to save you from any windows that were seconds away from breaking. Then running towards the hall for your child in their room. Their daughter came running out of her room just as a tree was about to fly through her window. The wind forces were so strong a bedroom door was blown off the hinges and struck my sister in the head causing some pretty nasty gashes! She’s gonna have a scar for the retelling for sure! More flying debris came into the home striking and killing one of their beloved Xolos, Nahui.

A good handful of friends came to help as soon as they could. We took as much as we all could fit in our vehicles because we knew looters would be coming through in the evening.

My sister and Cecilia are ok now and will make it out of this. They are a huge part of the heartbeat of Latin Music in Austin. Please find it in your hearts to help this family back on their feet after such a traumatic experience.
