Student Short Film: Help Bring "Fishbowl" to Life!
Donation protected
In an attempt to avoid cleaning his room, a tenacious young boy tries to make his escape to the park, but he discovers that running away (with his pet goldfish of course) is a lot harder than he thought.
Director's Statement: Hey y’all! My name is Erika Lunkwitz and I am a senior film student at Texas State University! I am super excited to announce that I am making my directorial debut this semester! Fishbowl stemmed from the idea of being trapped, the way a goldfish is trapped in a fishbowl, or a little boy is trapped in his room (until he cleans it of course). The feeling of being trapped is deeper than just being stuck somewhere you can’t get out of, and I think that is the beauty of this script. While writing Fishbowl, I learned that sometimes the things that make you feel trapped are exactly the things you need to thrive. With this film, I hope to really capture what it means to find your place in the world.
Producer's Statement: Hi everyone! My name is Angel Gonzalez and I am a senior film student at Texas State University. This project is super important for me because it will be my first ever short film that I am producing. It has been a life long dream of mine to help others in creating their stories and making it possible for it to come to life. Erika approached me with this idea and I instantly fell in love with it. This film has a powerful message about feeling trapped, which is something that others and myself can relate to. I am excited to be part of this crew and to see the final results!
Please consider donating for this film as it will be a tremendous help! All donations will be put towards financing shoot locations and set decorations, feeding the cast and crew, and eventually submitting the edited film to festivals! We are so excited to be a part of this project and we can't thank you enough for the support!
