My name is Erik, and I have been living with end-stage kidney disease for over a decade. Every day, I spend 15 hours at home on a peritoneal dialysis machine that keeps me alive while I wait and hope for a kidney transplant. Recently, I developed an infection in my dialysis catheter, which forced me to stop working and made it impossible to keep up with my basic living expenses. The stress of managing my health, combined with the anxiety of falling behind on rent, utilities, and car repairs, has made it hard to stay positive and hopeful for the future.

My greatest motivation is my daughter, Layla. I want to make sure she has a safe and stable home with me, and that we can enjoy our time together despite the challenges we face.
