On Christmas Eve, my brother and sister-in-law, Erik and Karen, experienced a devastating house fire leaving them without a home during what should have been a joyful time. In just a few hours, they lost not only their house, but also the comfort and security that comes with it. The holidays are meant to be spent together, but this year, my brother and sister-in-law are facing uncertainty and heartbreak instead.

They are now working to find temporary housing and replace the essentials they lost in the fire. Every day brings new challenges, from finding a safe place to stay to trying to provide for their basic needs. The support of our community means more than ever as my they try to rebuild and recover from this tragedy.
