Help Erik fight lymphoma

Erik Nguyen and his family began the fight of their lives this summer when Erik was diagnosed with primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma. This young warrior and his family need our help to get through the financial hardships of fighting cancer.
Their battle started in June 2020 when Erik began having worsening symptoms of hoarse voice, cough, head and neck pain. Soon he had difficulty swallowing and trouble breathing when laying down. A chest x-ray confirmed their fears; there was a 13 cm tumor in the middle of the chest. Erik soon underwent a biopsy at the University of Michigan which confirmed the diagnosis of lymphoma.
His initial work up was intense, including a PET scan, lumbar puncture, bone marrow biopsy, PICC line placement, echocardiogram. These tests revealed several complications: a blood clot near the heart in the superior vena cava, masses in the kidneys, fluid around the heart and lungs. He was initially in the ICU for monitoring. Erik spent the 4th of July and his birthday in the hospital undergoing treatment.
Every 3 weeks, Erik and his mother Kelly travel 120 miles from Croswell to Ann Arbor and spend a week in CS Mott Children's Hospital for his treatment, which involves 5 days of continuous chemotherapy infusion. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, lodging at the hospital is not always available for Kelly, so she has to stay at a hotel.
Fortunately, Erik is already responding to treatment! The tumor is shrinking and his symptoms are improving. Unfortunately, their medical expenses, travel and lodging costs are starting to add up and treatment could continue for several more months. We want Erik and his family to focus on treatment and recovery, and not worry about expenses. Please help us by donating to this amazing family!
