Hi, I'm Julie Ventura. My best friends, Erik & Adam McEwen (a gay couple with twin girls) are in need of help. They've fallen into a homeowner's nightmare and have no resolution in sight. If you have any advice or something to spare to get legal fees started, please please help!

 

Basically they are being targeted with an extremely unfair and unreasonable violation on an issue that was not disclosed before they bought the house even after doing all their due diligence. The county is giving them 30 days to RAISE A 4,000 SQUARE FOOT HOUSE 2.5 FEET! This would cost over $500,000 and just is not a practical option whatsoever. They are facing a huge financial crisis.

 

They're looking to fight this battle because it is so clearly unfair, especially knowing the previous owners were the ones who renovated the house against the violation and did not disclose the specific floodplain issue to Erik and Adam during their sale.
