On Tuesday morning, November 25th, around 10:00 a.m., a sudden fire broke out near Erickson’s home in Davao City in the Philippines after children accidentally ignited a mattress. Within minutes, the fire spread through three adjoining houses — including Erickson’s. His family lost everything.

For the past week, Erickson, his mother, and his brother have been sleeping at the local school where his mom teaches. Their community has shown tremendous care, but the loss is total, and they will need support to stabilize and rebuild.

Erickson is not only a wonderful virtual assistant who supports our work across the ocean — he is also a deeply kind, driven, and responsible person. Within his own family, he is the one who takes care of others. He supports his younger brother through college, helps his mother, and shows up with consistency and heart for everyone around him. Today, we get to show up for him.

We are raising funds for three essential needs:

1. Temporary Housing & Rent — to help Erickson’s family secure a safe place to live right away.
2. Essential Living Supplies — clothing, toiletries, food, school and work materials, and basic household necessities.
3. Materials to Rebuild Their Home — they own the land where their home once stood, and these funds will help them begin constructing a safe and stable house again.

Any amount — truly any — will make a difference. And if you cannot donate, sharing this campaign is a meaningful way to help.

On behalf of Erickson, his mom, and his brother: thank you for your generosity, your care, and your prayers as they begin the long but hopeful road to rebuilding their home.
