Hi everyone,
For more than 25 years, this building wasn’t just where we lived it was the foundation of our family. It’s where I raised my children: Jeimy (17), Derick (13), and J’Lene (12), and where my parents and sister lived just one floor above us. This place was home in every sense of the word.
The fire that destroyed our building didn’t just impact one family, it displaced more than 100 families who shared this community and this life with us. In one night, we all lost the spaces where our memories were made, where our children grew up, and where we felt safe. You can see an interview from the day of the fire here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DRaGJzaDmhq/?igsh=MTk2OHV0d3NjM3Nsbw==
We are deeply grateful for the support from friends, local churches, the Red Cross, and so many caring people who have reached out during this heartbreaking time. Many of our neighbors lost even more than we did, and our hearts are with every family trying to rebuild from nothing.
We’re sharing our story in hopes of gathering support to help us find a new place to live and replace the basics that make a home clothing, beds, furniture, and everyday essentials. Every contribution, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to restoring stability and comfort for our family.
Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and for standing with us and our community during this unimaginable moment.
