- Hi my name is Erica Contreras the mother of 3 children ages 8, 10, 13 who were recently involved in a severe car accident with my husband Tuesday 10/7/25 my 8 year old son got discharged 10/9/25 he had minor injuries and is getting better, my 10 year old son and 13 year old daughter got the most severe injuries, they underwent surgeries since they have been hospitalized they were both admitted to UNC Children’s Hospital. My son went under surgery 10/8/25 and he will need a lot of care since he’s still not able to walk on his own my husband will be taking care of him since my daughter is still hospitalized at UNC we will be getting transferred to Wake Med Rehab sometime today and she will not be able walk for 12 weeks meaning she will need full time care with that being said we will have to build a ramp at home to accommodate her special care putting me out of work during this time so my daughter can have my full attention mean while my husband takes care of our son who is still not able to walk on his own.
I’m collecting donations to help cover some medical bills and to help me along the way while I will be out of work. Also to help with building a ramp for my son/daughter that will be in a wheelchair when they come home. Thank you all again for your understanding.

Hola, mi nombre es Erica Contreras, Madre de tres niños de 8, 10, y 13 años que recientemente estuvieron involucrados en un grave accidente automovilístico con mi esposo el martes 10/7/25 mi hijo de 8 años fue dado de alta el 9 de Octubre tenia heridas leves y está mejorando, mi hijo de 10 años y mi hija de 13 años sufrieron las lesions más graves, se sometieron a cirugías ya que han sido hospitalizados, ambos fueron admitidos en el UNC Children’s Hospital. Mi hijo fue operado el 8 de octubre y necesitará muchos cuidados, ya que aún no puede caminar por si solo. Mi esposo lo cuidará, ya que mi hija sigue hospitalizada en UNC, nos transferirán a Wake Med hoy mismo y no podrá caminar durante 12 semanas, lo que significa que necesitará atencion a tiempo completo. Dicho esto, tendremos que construir una rampa en casa para acomodar su atención especial, lo que me dejará sin trabajo durante este tiempo para que mi hija pueda tener toda mi atención mientras mi esposo cuida de nuestro hijo, que áun no puede caminar por si solo.
