Hello, I’m Erica and I’m living with multiple chronic illnesses and disabilities that have made it impossible for me to work or earn an income.

Every day is a challenge as I navigate life with Antisynthetase Syndrome (antibody PL12) , a rare chronic systemic autoimmune connective tissue disease; Pulmonary Fibrosis with Hypoxia, which is a form of lung failure; Cardiomyopathy, which is heart failure; and both Polymyositis and Dermatomyositis. Myositis can be unpredictable—with random muscle weaknesses (inflammation) and unbearable pain. Dermatomyositis affects the skin, causing painful rashes and sensations that feel like bee stings, or fire burning underneath the skin. I also live with bone marrow inflammation, Sjogren’s, and Raynaud’s syndrome. These conditions have taken a toll on my strength and independence, making even simple tasks difficult.

I am hoping to raise funds for items that will help improve my health and quality of life, and to help me with any medical expenses.
