We have another family in need! This is how mutual aid works. We take turns helping each other as we can.

Erica spent so much time researching to find the perfect car for her, her family and her business and spent her savings to get a Honda Pilot. She absolutely loved that car and expected it to dependably last her for years to come. After having it for only 6 months she could tell something was wrong.

She was told by a local mechanic that the valve cover gasket needed replacing but to just watch the oil levels while driving over the holidays. She had already bought the new gasket and was waiting for her appointment.

On a short expedition locally with friends and their dog, the car caught fire, and Barnardsville Fire Dept was there at the scene to quickly extinguish it before it reached the gas tank. Luckily, everyone stepped away from the car without injuries, but this leaves their family without a vehicle.

Erica is an active herbalist in our community and has volunteered many hours to make and give herbal support to our community of western NC as well as the Madco Herb Collective since Hurricane Helene. If you know Erica, she is a generous person who lives a simple life. Her daughter is finally thriving with barrel racing and finding much joy spending time with the horses. Let’s help them find some reliable transportation so they can ride into the new year of the Horse!
