Hi, my name is Maria. I created this go fund me because my grand baby Evelyn that was just born January 06th. 2025 to my 21 year old daughter Erica unfortunately is going to need extensive care/treatment. Although this should be a happy joyous occasion that Erica should be cherishing, unfortunately the baby was born with Schizencephaly & Septo Optic Dysplasia. With the Schizencephaly most of the back side of her brain was replaced by the blood hemorrhage she had in utero. Between the effects of both of these my grand baby is not able to nurse or bottle feed and she is having a hard time keeping her oxygen levels up. At the moment she is on oxygen, a feeding tube, and has an IV to provide medication for her seizures. They say she will never crawl, never walk, never talk & is most likely blind. They also said that her likelihood of infant or childhood death is high. And that any small infection or virus she comes in contact with could be detrimental. We ask that you please pray for our baby Evelyn. And also pray for Erica as this is very hard on her especially having to be away at times from her other baby Ezra to spend time or the night at the hospital with Evelyn. Our family could also use your help since there is going to be very extensive and costly medical bills since she is still in the NICU and we still do not know how long she will be in there or is she’s will be transferred to children’s after all or possibly need surgery. There are also other needs that are coming up as the days pass and every bit helps to ease the stress that’s already making things hard.
