Two years ago, Ali and Eric’s world changed when their daughter Andi was diagnosed with epilepsy. Since then, they’ve spent countless hours working with care teams and hospitals across Ontario to understand the cause of her seizures and prepare for surgery. Andi is scheduled to begin specialized care at SickKids in Toronto in February 2026, a major step toward improving her quality of life.
Just as they were preparing for this next chapter, life threw them another unimaginable challenge. Two weeks ago, Eric woke up with a sore mouth and a swollen right side of his neck. After a day in the ER and several urgent appointments in London, he received a devastating diagnosis: Stage 4 Cancer in his mouth that spread to his Lymph Nodes. They are now working with a team of doctors out of Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto who believe it is curable, but it is aggressive. Eric is scheduled for major 10 hour surgery in Toronto in early January followed by radiation treatments with approximately 9 month to a year recovery time.
This family has always been the first to step up, donating, fundraising, and supporting others in need. Alison volunteers on numerous boards and tirelessly advocates for those who need help. Now, it’s their turn to receive the support they so desperately need.
We’re asking for your help to ease the financial burden during this difficult time. Donations will go toward: support they so deeply deserve. Eric will experience a loss of wages during this period, as he is currently employed in a contract position and does not receive compensation while being off work. Additionally, Alison will be taking a leave of absence from her employment as they focus on recovery and care, medical expenses, accommodations in Toronto while Andi and Eric undergo treatments and testing in the coming months.
Every contribution, big or small, will make a difference. Please consider donating and sharing this page to help Ali, Eric, and Andi navigate the road ahead with strength and hope.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
This fundraiser was created by Bronte, Branden, Karen and friends, with love and support for Eric, Ali, and Andi.
