Hi, my name is Stacy and I am creating this fundraiser for my friend Eric. I appreciate your time and consideration in reading his story.
Five years ago, Eric lost everything in a devastating California wildfire—his home, his artwork, his livelihood. All he had left were his car, the clothes on his back, and his beloved dogs—one of whom saved their lives.
Rebuilding hasn’t been easy. Displacement, job loss, the trauma of recurring fires, and the heartbreaking losses of all but one dog, eventually led Eric to relocate across the country to Massachusetts, hoping to find stability and peace near family. Along the way, hardship has continued through injuries, surgeries, and financial hardship—with Eric starting over again and again. But through it all, Yoyo the 11 year old St. Bernard—his last remaining 135 pound companion—has stayed by his side, offering strength, grounding, and unconditional love.
Today, Eric and Yoyo live modestly in a rented RV, as he continues to rebuild his life. But now, Yoyo is nearing the end, and Eric simply can’t afford the imaging to confirm how far his illness has progressed—let alone the cost to help Yoyo pass peacefully, without suffering.
My hope is to raise at least $1,875 to help Eric cover the cost of veterinary care, through the Veterinary Emergency Group in Shrewsbury, MA, including imaging, possible treatment, and—when the time comes—compassionate euthanasia and cremation.
This is about more than medical bills. It’s about honoring a bond forged through fire, loss, and unwavering loyalty. Yoyo has stood by Eric through everything. Let’s help make sure Eric can stand by Yoyo now—with dignity, love, and peace.
Thank you so much for helping. (Photo credit Riley Aronson 2024)
