On Thursday, April 9th, 2026, I experienced a spontaneous lung collapse and was hospitalized for two days. This was a frightening and unexpected event that turned my world upside down. Unfortunately, I do not qualify for medical assistance, and my income is not enough to afford medical insurance. Facing this medical emergency without coverage has left me with significant hospital bills and ongoing recovery expenses.

While I am grateful to qualify for temporary disability leave from work, I will only receive 60% of my regular income during my recovery. This reduced income makes it difficult to keep up with essential expenses like housing and transportation, on top of the mounting medical bills.
