Help Eric Rebuild After Hurricane Helene

Hi everyone my name is Alex Silvester, Eric MacKay is one of my closest and oldest friends.

On july 28th 2024, Eric packed up everything he owned and drove from Michigan, the only place he's ever called home, to move down to a little cabin on the river in Swannanoa with his beloved dog, Freya. They both enjoyed a beautiful month and a half of pond swims, long walks, and Frisbee throws.

When hurricane Helene came through, Eric had to watch as everything he's ever owned or collected in his life was washed away by the river. Eric's home is gone, along with all of his belongings. He and Freya waded through waist-high water to higher ground during the worst of the storm, and then he personally helped with numerous life-threatening water rescues for neighbors.

Eric has not only lost everything he owns, but also is suffering significant emotional trauma from the event itself, as well as the aftermath.

We know there are numerous individuals and communities needing support, but we are asking our friends and community to please consider helping out Eric personally. He is a beautiful human with so much love and light inside of him that has been dimmed by this terrible disaster- we are asking for your help to help restore it.
