Hallo Everyone! Eric McGee has been a composer and piano teacher in DC for over 40 years. Hundreds of families, kids and adults, have learned to play piano, sing, perform and even compose themselves from him over the decades - in their homes and at Hearst Elementary school. He has made an impact in immeasurable ways on these families.
Sadly, Mr. McGee was diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer last December. He has been undergoing some tough rounds of chemo, trying to shrink the tumor so he can have it removed by surgery. So far, the chemo is working but it is making him very sick.
I am raising $30,000 to help Eric get through the next few months. He needs financial support because the side-effects of the chemo makes it hard for him to teach. There are medical bills that are not covered by insurance. The funds will also be used for him to get a second opinion on his prognosis from experts at Sloan-Kettering hospital in New York.
