Hello friends,
My name is Eric Kasina, a climate advocate and science communicator working at the intersection of climate action, biodiversity, and sustainable development across Kenya and Africa.
I publish weekly in Kenya’s leading newspapers, using storytelling to shape public opinion and influence policy on restoration, nature conservation, and climate resilience.
I’m currently enrolled in the Yale Tropical Forest Landscapes Certificate Program, and I’ve received a 75% scholarship to attend the TFL Field Course in Brazil, scheduled for October 19–25, 2025.
This course will bring together global experts in tropical forest conservation, restoration science, and community-led landscape management. It’s a rare opportunity to learn from Brazil’s Amazon region and to represent Africa in a space where climate and nature solutions are shaped.
Why I Need Your Support
While my tuition has been subsidized from $2,500 to $625, I still need help covering the remaining expenses—including travel, visa fees, and local logistics during the course.
Expense Cost (USD)
Tuition (after scholarship) $625
Round-trip airfare (Kenya–Brazil) $3,072
Visa application fee $200
Local logistics (ground transport, airport transfers, insurance, etc.) $103
Total Needed $4,000
I’m raising $4,000 to make this global learning opportunity a reality.
Why This Course Matters
This isn’t just about professional growth—it’s about what I can bring back:
• Strengthen my role as a communicator for nature and climate justice
• Represent Kenya and Africa in global restoration and conservation conversations
• Gain practical tools and insights to support local communities and national policy
• Inspire youth and future leaders to take action on climate and sustainability
Your support will help amplify African perspectives and solutions in global conservation spaces.

Eric Kasina
