Support Eric Karst in His Final Battle — A Life of Quiet Sacrifice

Eric Brian Karst has spent his entire life in service to others—with no expectation of praise or reward. Whether through his military service, decades of public duty, or the family he built through love and commitment, Eric has given all he has to the people who needed him most.

Born on June 1, 1962, Eric served honorably in the U.S. Army as part of the 82nd Airborne Division, where he became an Army Ranger and achieved the rank of E5 before being medically separated. He went on to serve 25 years as a state corrections officer, protecting and serving his community with strength and humility.

Eric and his wife, Sherrie, devoted their lives to raising children in need. Over the years, they welcomed 13 foster and adoptive children into their home—providing safety, structure, and unconditional love. Their youngest, just 13 years old, still depends on them today.

A year ago, Eric celebrated being cancer-free. Tragically, the cancer has returned—more aggressive than before—and has now progressed to Stage 4, spreading throughout his major organs. As he faces the most difficult battle of his life, Sherrie is also grappling with serious health issues, and the family is struggling under the weight of rising medical costs and financial uncertainty.

Eric’s pension and disability benefits have been the foundation supporting their household, but now the need is greater than ever. They are facing:

Mounting medical and hospice care expenses

End-of-life costs and funeral planning

Ongoing financial needs for Sherrie and their youngest child

Eric has never asked for much. He simply gave—day after day, year after year. He gave to his country, his community, and most of all, to the children who needed a place to call home.
